Personalized Learning
Since 1969, our highly sought-after academic environment has utilized small-group learning to instill personalize each child's experience—academic, social and emotional—for whole-child learning that works. Our philosophy looks beyond standardized test scores, focusing on nurturing creativity, curiosity, perseverance and confidence. Through expert academic attention that only St. George's can provide, every child feels known and celebrated for their strengths and supported in their areas of growth, reaching their fullest potential.

Experience Best-in-Market Class Sizes
Because of our low 5:1 total student-to-teacher ratio, we develop meaningful relationships with each student, can group students by abilities and learning profiles in leveled breakout sessions and track each student’s goals and progress with parents.

Our classrooms and ratios shift—hour by hour and subject by subject—to shape education for each student. Dynamic and flexible student groupings are part of how we challenge and support your child. Based on students’ goals, strengths and areas of growth, students transition between flexibly leveled reading and math groups, Creative Arts electives, Resource and speech-language support (as needed) and more.
This approach teaches students how to ask for help and encourages them to take risks, and sets them up for life beyond StG—in high school, college and even the workplace.
While our overall ratio is 5:1, how does that look in specific divisions and groupings?
- 3:1 in the infant nursery
- 5:1 in Early Childhood classrooms
- 6:1 in Lower School reading groups
- 8.5:1 in Lower School math groups
- 8.5:1 in Middle School advisory groups
- 3:1 in Resource sessions
- 2:1 in speech-language sessions
Only at St. George's: Success Teams

Our success teams—made up of teachers, coaches, advisors, Resource specialists, parents and administrators—guide all students to reach their personal best.
Success teams meet regularly about each student to discuss a holistic picture of his or her learning profile and progress. The teams identify strengths and areas of growth and track student goals, peer relationships, academic strategies and more.
Your child’s success team includes:
-
Teachers: At the center of it all, teachers lead their students’ success teams and serve as their advisors.
-
Resource specialists: Resource specialists offer support to the grade-level team by providing academic and/or speech-language intervention to those students demonstrating learning challenges, as well as support to teachers with implementing classroom strategies for all students to achieve optimal educational success.
-
Administrators: Division Directors and our Counseling and Wellness Team know every student by name and discuss learning strategies to help students achieve their goals in grade-level meetings.
-
Parents: Parents are an integral part of their children's success teams; collaborative and regular communication between parents and the faculty—whether through the Brightwheel app, email, phone call or conference—allows for consistent implementation of strategies and awareness of academic and social-emotional goals.

Lower School
Since 1975, St. George’s has served both locally and nationally as a leader in providing support services for children. Resource Services exists as a part of St. George's to assist students with learning, academic and/or speech/language difficulties. Our team of specialists, working in partnership with classroom teachers, provides students with a fully integrated program to help our students find individual success.

Middle School
The house system fosters school spirit while promoting our core values and sense of community and belonging. Sorted into the Dragons, Spartans or Trojans in 1st grade, students earn points for their houses through academics, athletics, traditions and core values.

Our Graduates
With both team and individual options, student athletes learn the value of commitment, teamwork and personal growth. Athletics at StG are not just about competition; they are about building resilience, leadership and the confidence to meet challenges head-on while fostering friendships and a lasting sense of community.
