St. George's Strategic Plan

As a community, the relationship between families and faculty/staff extends beyond the classroom. While there are strong relationships across the school, the purpose of this commitment is to bring structure to the relationships that those groups have with the school community.

Initiatives:

• Prioritize a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment with attention to professional development, admissions policies, faculty support and growth and curriculum

• Ensure staff and faculty fulfillment in the scope of salary and benefits, hiring, workload and collaboration

• Foster a whole-family experience with each St. George’s education

• Enhance the consistency, channels and content of communications within the community

We have excelled for over 50 years in creating an incredibly unique environment that unites students and promotes a shared understanding of the strengths and challenges of each StG community member. This strategic goal intends to emphasize the importance of the core of the St. George’s educational model and ensure that school evolution and growth maintains the supportive, intentional learning environment that the StG Community has come to trust.

Initiatives:

• Implement an expanded educational model that serves to strengthen and increase the reach of the Resource Services program for the benefit of all St. George’s students.

• Create and implement an overhauled tuition model with expanded tuition assistance that increases access to a St. George’s education

• Increase student enrollment and retention with a particular focus on balanced classes

• Develop a plan for capital improvements to and maintenance of St. George’s campus

A key effort of the strategic plan published above is to define and share a description of a St. George’s education that accurately reflects our school and our students. We aim to define, refine and communicate the richness of our learning environment and how our unique approach to developing self-aware and confident self-advocates benefits a diverse range of learners. 

Initiatives:

• Educate New Orleans families about the lifelong value of a StG education

• Establish and promote our educational expertise and thought leadership in the region

• Increase the reach of the StG educational experience

• Enhance and diversify curriculum and programming opportunities

An essential development need for St. George’s is to bring structure and intentionality to fundraising efforts for the school. To date, fundraising efforts have lacked end goals, overarching strategy and an assertive approach. With our Director of Advancement and External Affairs and a strong Advancement Team now finally wholly formed and established, we can execute strategies that will help secure the school’s financial foundation, allowing all students the opportunity to live these compelling educational experiences.

Initiatives:

• Build internal resources to increase efficiency, effectiveness and reach of StG development activities

• Establish a culture of giving within the StG community with particular focus on the Board of Trustees as stewards and advocates of the school

• Cultivate meaningful relationships with StG alumni

• Launch compelling fundraising campaigns around targeted giving opportunities

We are not just in New Orleans, of New Orleans or from New Orleans. At St. George’s we are for New Orleans. We are a StG Community, which means we are committed to the city of New Orleans. Our programming, curriculum and partnerships should represent that commitment.

Commitments:

• Review and reinforce curriculum and programmatic opportunities that build awareness and knowledge within the student body of the history and diverse culture of our city.

• Establish strategic partnerships and programs that encourage faculty, parent and student advocacy to address New Orleans’ most pressing issues and needs.

• Ensure that St. George’s campus growth and improvements preserve the architectural and cultural history of the buildings located within our campus.

• Continue to work towards expansion of the St. George’s model of education to share our expertise and benefit a greater number of learners across the city, no matter their school enrollment.
