House System

St. George's House System is one of a kind and celebrates StG school spirit and belonging throughout the academic year while promoting our school values and sense of community.

We have three Houses but one home at St. George’s. Go Dragons, Trojans and Spartans!

About Our House System

Since the 1970s, St. George’s students have been placed on one of three teams–the Dragons, Spartans or Trojans–and out of an annual Field Day tradition, filled with camaraderie and joy, our House System has emerged. Throughout the school year, 1st-8th grade House members earn points individually and collectively by living out our core values of perseverance, integrity, respect and compassion, by excelling academically and by competing in traditions like Field Day and our Red, White and Blue Games. At the end of the school year, the winner of the “House Cup” is announced and feted with great fanfare.

Our Three Houses

Students are sorted into their House during the 1st grade year or initial year on campus if first enrolling as a 2nd-8th grader and keep their House affiliation for life; family members are assigned to the same House. Faculty and staff are also sorted into Houses when starting their tenure at St. George's. The system allows for friendly competition and instills community values through fun and games, and our alumni and former teachers regularly reference their House or team when reminiscing about their time at St. George's

  • The Dragons, our House of Bravery, wear red

  • The Spartans, our House of Creativity, wear white
  • The Trojans, our House of Teamwork, wear navy

Community Time & 8th Grade House Leaders

Houses gather in their red, white or navy t-shirts monthly during Community Time for games, celebration, announcements and more. Led by Coach Wade Kimbro, the House Council is comprised of teachers and administrators, as well as 8th grade House Leaders. Gradually, House Leaders take over planning and leadership of the monthly meetings, working with 1st-7th grade students to celebrate House point earners, create cheers and support community within their House.

Kindergarten's Role

During the 2nd half of the year, Kindergarten teachers introduce the House System to students, encouraging acts of kindness and displays of core values within their classrooms. Kindergartners also attend Field Day at Audubon Park, participating in their own events while observing 1st-8th grade's day. Kindergarten students and teachers wear purple t-shirts to symbolize the combination of Dragon red, Spartan white and Trojan navy.
