St. George's Parents Group

The compassion, abilities and dedication of St. George's faculty and staff is arguably unmatched in the Greater New Orleans Area, and the Parents Group has the privilege of helping show our appreciation as a school community. We invite you to join us in this endeavor by making a donation to the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Fund. This fund helps the Parents Group execute a variety of events throughout the year.

For the 2022-2023 academic school year, the following events have taken place already or are currently planned:

• Tuesday, January 17th – StG Appreciation King Cake Tasting Party

• Wednesday, February 8th – StG Appreciation Wine and Cheese Social

• Wednesday, March 30th – StG Appreciation Snack Bar During Conferences

• Monday, May 1st - StG Appreciation Coffee Truck (Teacher Appreciation Week)

• Wednesday, May 3rd - StG Appreciation Luncheon (Teacher Appreciation Week)

St. George's Parents Group hosted their first annual Mardi Gras Luncheon at Shaya in February 2022. Parents were invited to wear their most festive Mardi Gras attire and enjoy delicious food and cocktails while celebrating the best time of year in New Orleans!

One of the most magical “knights” of the year, St. George’s Knight at City Park is on Thursday, May 26th from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This Parents Group event is an evening for St. George’s families to come together to enjoy exclusive use of the City Park Carousel Gardens amusements. 

Tickets will be $35 at the gate. Children 2 and under get in free. Admission includes food, drinks and access to the Carousel Gardens rides and Storyland. Sangria, a specialty Pinhook Bourbon cocktail and desserts will be available for an additional cost.

The St. George's Holiday Book Fair takes place during the holiday season each year. We partner with the well-known Garden District Book Shop, owned by Barkley Rafferty '00.  The Book Fair always includes a fun event for our Early Childhood students and includes photos with Santa! Families may stop by the book shop to pick up their favorite books and even have the option to contribute to gift cards for our teachers to use at Garden District Book Shop. If you missed the Book Fair last year, you can still stop by the store and support our teachers! Check out their website here. 

The St. George’s Parents Group's Charleston Wrap sales kicked off on October 25 and continued through November 5, 2021. Each family  received a catalog featuring items for sale, with many more items available on the Charleston Wrap website. Selections included beautiful, reversible, high-quality wrapping paper; gift wrapping accessories; gourmet sauces, candies and preserves; great kitchen gadgets and cookware; stocking stuffers; and unique items personalized with names and monograms.  This year, our Charleston Wrap Fundraiser brought in more than $7,500!

Parents Group supports St. George’s in a variety of ways, including organizing volunteers for:

Campus beautification and maintenance/decoration tasks
Faculty and staff appreciation
Hearing and vision screenings
New Dragon Welcome
School portrait days
Spring Dinner and Annual Meeting
Volunteering in the offices or library
