At St. George’s Episcopal School, tuition reflects a thoughtful investment in exceptional teaching, small class sizes and a nurturing environment where every child is known, supported and equipped to thrive. Our tuition covers not only classroom instruction but also specialist teachers, hands-on Project Approach learning, arts, athletics, social-emotional support, facilities and the rich community experience that distinguishes StG.

Nursery and PS1-Pre-K3 Tuition

Pre-K4-8th Grade Tuition

Pre-K4: $19,545 per year
Kindergarten: $23,235 per year
First-Fourth Grades: $26,840 per year
Fifth-Eighth Grades: $29,250 per year

Tuition is inclusive of annual registration fees, activity fees (student accident insurance, field trips, art and science fees and classroom activities), textbook and supply fees, laptop fees, athletics fees and Academic Games fees.

FACTS Management

DEWAR Tuition Refund Plan: 2025-26

The DEWAR tuition refund plan provides refund insurance for your financial obligation to pay tuition under the terms of your enrollment agreement. In the event of an unforeseen illness or the need to withdraw your child from St. George’s unexpectedly, without this insurance plan, you would still be required to make full payment of tuition and fees for the remainder of the school year.

DEWAR, our external insurance agency, provides tuition refund insurance at a nominal charge of 1.4% of the annual tuition amount. Information about this plan can be obtained from the DEWAR brochure and at www.tuitionrefundplan.com. The premium, which is billed on the first tuition statement in June, represents 1.4% of the 2025-26 tuition and fee amount. Families utilizing the monthly or semi-annual payment plan are required to have Tuition Refund Insurance. Families utilizing the annual payment plan are automatically enrolled but may opt out of our coverage before the start of the academic year. To opt out, you must provide written notification no later than July 1, 2025; unfortunately, we will not be able to honor any request to opt out after that date.

Other Fees and Registration Costs

Application and Screening Fees
A $75.00 non-refundable application fee is required for prospective students applying for Nursery - 8th grade.

Enrollment Deposit
A $1000 non-refundable enrollment deposit is required per child. This full amount is applied as a payment on the last tuition bill for the year. A $250 late enrollment fee will apply to families submitting contracts after the stated deadline.

Incidental Charges
Where applicable, additional charges outside of the above tuition amounts may be incurred throughout the year. Examples include charges for After Care, Resource and speech services and other miscellaneous items. Incidental charges are not included in the DEWAR tuition refund plan.

Resource Services

Scholarships

St. George’s Episcopal School currently partners with two outside scholarship programs — LA Gator and Arete Scholars — to support families with demonstrated financial need. Both programs determine eligibility based on specific income requirements and/or other educational specificities. Interested families should apply directly through the organizations, listing St. George’s Episcopal School as their school choice.

How and when is tuition determined?

St. George's tuition rates reflect a typical school-year calendar that runs from the middle of August through the end of May. School hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with After Care available until 6 p.m. for an additional fee. The only exception is the Nursery, for which school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. without After Care.

Tuition is used primarily to recruit and retain high-quality faculty and to maintain St. George's low student-teacher ratios. Many of our non-salary operational expenses are supported by philanthropic contributions. St. George's has been committed to including as many fees as possible within our tuition rates to eliminate "surprise" costs whenever possible.

St. George's offers multiple payment plan options so our families can pay tuition on a schedule that works best for them. These options are outlined in the "Payment Timeline and Methods" tab of this accordion menu.

Tuition for the next school year are determined by the end of the calendar year and subsequently updated on our website, along with Dewar Tuition Refund Plan information.

Affording St. George's

Pre-K4-8th Grade families seeking consideration for financial aid are required to submit an online application and supporting documentation with Clarity; only one application is needed per family, even with multiple prospective students. The 2026-2027 application opens on October 1st, 2025. Financial aid is not available in our nursery-Pre-K3 age levels.

2026-2027 Clarity Information
The deadline for prospective families to submit all materials in order to be considered for first-round consideration is December 31, 2025. Returning families will receive their financial aid award with their re-enrollment contract if the Clarity deadlines outlined below are met and financial need is demonstrated. New applicants will receive their award with their admission decision. For Clarity applications submitted after December 31, 2025, decisions will be made and communicated on a rolling basis should funds remain available.

Clarity collects and processes all information and sends a confidential report, including a recommendation, to St. George’s Tuition Review Committee. The committee reviews this report, along with the school’s budget, and makes decisions about financial aid awards.

Which families are eligible for financial aid?

Does applying for financial aid affect my child’s chances of admission to St. George’s?

Admission applications and Clarity applications are reviewed separately, and submitting a Clarity application has no bearing on an applicant’s admissibility. In addition, Clarity applications are confidential; information is viewed only by the Tuition Review Committee, and only the Committee and the Business Office see the rate of tuition that a family pays. Faculty and administrators are not privy to any financial materials, nor are they aware of any family’s financial aid award.

How is an aid amount for my family determined?

St. George’s utilizes Clarity to process applications. Clarity provides an analysis service that calculates the discretionary income of each family and recommends an amount within the funds available for each grade level. Clarity places tuition among a family’s top financial commitments.

Significant variables that influence rates of tuition include income, assets, liabilities, debts, allowances, the number of dependents, saving for retirement and college and certain unexpected one-time expenses. Based on their family budget, parents/guardians are asked to note the requested award that they believe is the right fit for their budget. Families are also asked if they are receiving financial support from anyone outside of their household.

All of the provided information is reviewed by the Tuition Review Committee in order to determine your family’s award. Financial aid is available for students entering Pre-K4-8th grade.

Who sees my family's financial information?

All financial information is treated as highly confidential. Only the Tuition Review Committee will see this information, and only the Committee and Business Office will see a family’s award amount. Division Directors and faculty members are not privy to any financial materials, nor are they aware of the families receiving aid. All tuition decisions are considered to be confidential agreements between St. George’s and the recipient family and should be treated in the same manner for families.

If my family pays the full tuition amount, how does this program benefit us?

Will my family be asked to contribute to The Fund for St. George’s?

St. George’s families are asked to participate in The Fund for St. George’s, as tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a St. George’s education. We encourage you to make a gift that is meaningful for your family; remember, too, that gifts of every size make an impact on the educational experience for all students at St. George’s. Also, for parents with special talents and time, St. George’s is always seeking volunteers to assist the Parents Group and Booster Club.
