Welcome to St. George's!

St. George's Episcopal School enrolls infants (age 8 weeks and older) through 8th grade students. Learn more about the students we serve—and our intentional choice to be a co-ed elementary school that ends in 8th grade.

Because of our low 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio, we develop meaningful relationships with each student, can group students by abilities and learning profiles in leveled breakout sessions and track each student’s goals and progress with parents.

St. George's employs over 90 teachers and specialists for our enrollment of 404 students.

St. George's graduates are regularly admitted to the top high schools in New Orleans, including Catholic, charter and independent options. While preference for specific schools—especially independent schools—varies annually, we regularly see interest in Ben Franklin and De La Salle, our top 2 matriculations. St. George's families come from all over the Greater New Orleans area, representing a total of 23 local zip codes. While a majority of families live Uptown or in Broadmoor, many commute from the Westbank, Mid-City, Lakeview, Metairie, Harahan, River Ridge and Kenner. We've even had families commute from Slidell, Mandeville, Covington and Montz!

Absolutely! Community and inclusivity are vitally important to the mission of St. George’s. While we are an Episcopal School, we affirm many faiths, creeds and world views within our StG community. All students and families—from all religious backgrounds or none at all—are welcome at St. George’s Episcopal School. 

While 12% of responding 2025-2026 families noted that they are Episcopalian, a majority of our families are Catholic (27%) or identify as observers of another Christian denomination (13%). Over 11% of families noted that they celebrate multiple religions in their households, and 15% shared that they are agnostic or non-practicing. Other denominations observed in the data include Judaisim, Hinduism and Buddhism.

Before Care, during morning carpool, is offered through tuition to all St. George's families. Depending on a student's age, they will proceed directly to their classroom or to a shared meeting space, like our theatre or gym, until released to homerooms or advisories.

After Care is available for an additional fee to all age 1-8th grade students and runs daily until 6 p.m. Fall and spring semester After Care Lagniappe programs are also made available to families for registration, and these programs are offered to all families regardless of After Care registration status. School lunch is available to staff and students in Pre-K3-8th grade from our provider, Boucherie. Boucherie meals are nutritious and made from scratch with fresh ingredients—never using canned fruits or vegetables. Each day, students and staff have a choice of what they would like to eat: hot lunch; deli sandwich, including turkey, ham, pepperoni or Sunbutter and jelly; hot sandwiches like grilled cheese or cheese quesadillas; or a salad bar with freshly cut romaine lettuce and a variety of salad toppings, as well as housemade dressings. St. George's has a school nurse on campus during the school year and during Summer at St. George's sessions through our partnership with the Ochsner Healthy Schools Program. Read more about the partnership here.

St. George's is a year-round, nut-free campus, disallowing peanuts, tree nuts and nut butters. Our school lunch provider, Boucherie, complies with our policy, though they are not a nut-free facility. Ingredient labels must be present on all food brought by families to share with the class or grade, and homemade goods are not permitted.

The priority application deadlines for the 2026-2027 academic year are Friday, November 28th for Nursery-Age 2 and Friday, December 19th for Pre-K3-8th Grade. This ensures notification on our scheduled contract extension dates in the first round of applicants. Read more on our Submit an Application page.

Following these dates, the applicant pool is considered on a rolling basis until the new school year begins and as space permits for each age or grade level.
